a site for providing geospatial and ecological data for protecting the rare species and habitats of Transylvania

This is a site which shelters data useful for the protection of rare and endangered species and habitats from Transylvania (Romania). In the reason to be widely and easily accessible all over the world the whole content of the site will be written in English.

In this webpage we would like to publish the real actual situation of the endangered species and habitats of Transylvania by using the data provided by the dedicated naturalists in the region. Many of these species and habitats are nowadays in a critical situation though they are not enlisted in the European or Romanian lists of prioritary species.

This can be done by using GIS techniques (exact cartography of the position, size, contour of the populations of the endangered species or of the habitats) as well as classical techniques (digital photos, releves, statistical ecology, etc).

Kindly,

dr. Alexandru Badarau

THE WHOLE SITE IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION. IT WILL TAKE TIME TO ASSEMBLY THE DATA WE HAVE AND HOWEVER IT WILL BE UNDER THE NEED OF A CONSTANT RENEWAL ALL TIME. THANK YOU FOR PATIENCE AND YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
